Dredging Information Meeting: A public information meeting on the harbor dredging planned for Areas B and C is scheduled for Tuesday, August 15 at 7PM at the American Legion Hall behind Town Hall.
Monthly Selectmen’s Newsletter first addition is out! To bolster communications with residents, we are mailing all households updates once a month. We will send it electronically to those who want to provide an email address at the Notify Me button on the Town’s web site. The newsletter has prompted a number of people to inquire about volunteering for various boards – thank you! A list of vacancies is on the town web site as well.
MBTA Train weekday service resumes. Weekday service should resume August 14 while weekend service remains suspended through the end of September
MBTA Proposed Communication Towers: Recent efforts have included more outreach to other communities, including those along the South Shore and examining possible legal challenges to the process the T followed in contracting with the vendor for the project. The next MBTA meeting on the topic is on Monday, 8/14, in Boston. Additional information can be found on the Town’s web site as well as the MBTA’s web site
Construction work continues around town – Your patience is appreciated! The sewer line work on North Street should be completed this week; Pleasant Street water service line work continues. Valve and hydrant work is wrapping up until a new phase begins later in the fall.
Town Hall Hours: Thursday evenings Town Hall offices will remain open until 6:30PM beginning July 6. The Building Inspector will hold office hours from 4:30PM to 6:30PM on Thursdays.
Monday and Tuesday Trash, Recycling and Compost pick-up will be on the regular schedule.
