BOS WEEKLY UPDATE – October 26, 2017

Memorial School Project Community Forum:  A second public forum is scheduled for Wednesday, November 1 at Memorial School. Two identical sessions are planned for 9AM and 7PM.  For detailed information about the project go to the Memorial Building Committee’s link on the home page of the School District’s web site (mersd.org)

Road Striping:  The dreaded double stripes will be removed this Saturday on Bridge, School and Beach Streets.  One way alternating traffic will be maintained.  Later next week, assuming good weather, all roads in town will be given fresh road stripes.

Your opinion is needed:  The development of our new master plan is entering a critical phase as we work to develop specific action steps that will advance the Shared Community Vision developed earlier.  Tell us how you think we should manage new development going forward by completing a new online survey.  What are the lasting legacies we should be creating today for future generations?

New Smart 911 Program:  The Police Department and the Council on Aging have teamed up to offer a new, free Safety Profile that can include any information you want 911 and first responders to have in the event of an emergency.  The information you provide is immediately displayed to 911 call takers who can relay the information to responders.  Sign up at the Police Department, the COA Office or on line at www. smart911.com.

Draft Hazard Mitigation Plan:  Public comments are welcome on the new hazard mitigation plan that is now in draft form.  The draft includes projections about possible greater flooding threats induced by climate change, impacting lower lying coastal properties and those lands abutting streams.  The draft plan can be found on the Town’s web site.

Regular Schedule for Trash, Recycling and Compost.  Take advantage of the new used clothing curb-side pick-up service
