BOS WEEKLY UPDATE – November 2, 2017
Thank you to the DPW crews! The storm at the first of the week caused significant tree damage requiring herculean efforts by our DPW to keep roads open. Their long hours of dedicated work are much appreciated. National Grid has struggled with the volume of power outages and, while we advocate for quick restoration in town, such repairs are not in our control. Residents should always call National Grid directly and take advantage of their on-line outage reporting and notification system if possible.
Road Striping: The dreaded double stripes will be removed this Saturday on Bridge, School and Beach Streets. One-way alternating traffic will be maintained. Later next week, assuming good weather, all roads in town will be given fresh road stripes.
Your opinion is needed: The development of our new master plan is entering a critical phase as we work to develop specific action steps that will advance the Shared Community Vision developed earlier. Tell us how you think we should manage new development going forward by completing our online survey. What are the lasting legacies we should be creating today for future generations?
New Smart 911 Program: The Police Department and the Council on Aging have teamed up to offer a new, free Safety Profile that can include any information you want 911 and first responders to have in the event of an emergency. The information you provide is immediately displayed to 911 call takers who can relay the information to responders. Sign up at the Police Department, the COA Office, or online at www. smart911.com.
Regular Schedule for Trash, Recycling and Compost. Take advantage of the new used clothing curbside pick-up service.
