BOS WEEKLY UPDATE – March 22, 2018

Winter in March continues!
Please remember to adhere to the no parking rules when the Blue Lights are on and avoid pushing snow into the street. Also, watch for any alerts about delayed trash pick-ups posted to the Town web site.  Our DPW crews continue to work hard to keep streets and sidewalks passable and your cooperation is appreciated.

Climate Change Vulnerability Workshops: A public workshop to review our most vulnerable areas to flooding and storm surge and strategies we should pursue to better protect ourselves from the impacts of climate change will be held at two different times: Saturday, 3/24, 8:30 AM and Tuesday 3/27, 6PM, both at the Community Center.  The first half hour is for signing in and enjoying food and beverages.  For more detailed information contact Mary Riley in the Conservation Commission Office.

Tuck's Point Rotunda: The storm damage to the Rotunda has rendered the structure unsafe.  Repair efforts will be underway soon. In the meantime, please stay off it.

Selectmen Meeting Schedule: Our meeting schedule has been altered in order to benefit from the discussions that will take place at the Planning Board's Public Hearing on the two proposed zoning regulations pertaining to marijuana establishments set for Monday, March 26 at 7PM at Town Hall.  The Selectmen will meet on Tuesday, March 27 at 6:30PM with a focus on finalizing positions on the three different marijuana articles that will be debated at the Annual Town Meeting.

Volunteer and Employee of the Year Nominations: Let us know who you feel deserves to be this year's recipient of these two awards.  Drop off your nominations with reasons why at the Selectmen's Office at Town Hall

Annual Town Meeting: The Warrant is now posted on the Town's web site and hard copies are available at Town Hall. The Annual Reports and the Finance Committee's Town Meeting booklet with the warrant articles and recommendations will be delivered to all households a week prior to the April 2 Town Meeting scheduled for 7PM at the Memorial Elementary School Gymnasium.

Annual Elections Set for May 15th: Candidate filing deadline is March 27-details are available at the Town Clerk's Office.  The ballot will include candidates for Selectmen, the Housing Authority, Library Trustee, Moderator, Planning Board (3 positions) and the School Committee.  We encourage you to get involved!
