MPC Update - September 26, 2016

Posted on September 26, 2016 at 11:49 AM by Melanie Oldeman

Please join us TONIGHT for the Master Plan Visioning Open House hosted by the Town and the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Manchester Essex Regional High School. Input from tonight's event will help develop a comprehensive new Master Plan to serve as the foundation for policy, project and budget decisions over the coming years.

The Open House will have a drop-in, walk-through format, kicking off with a presentation from MAPC on the results of a community survey conducted this summer. There will be food, mingling, and five information stations for attendees to visit, as well as a children's play area for caregivers to utilize at the event. Participants can come for as long or as little as they like and the results of the community survey will be available throughout the evening.

The five information stations will include interactive activities and maps. Participants can offer feedback on which areas they'd like to see preserved to stay the same, or changed with redevelopment; share ideas for bicycle and pedestrian improvements; browse data on the town; offer ideas about what's missing and what can improve about quality of life; and share experiences on what's great about living in Manchester-by-the-Sea.

For more information, contact Town Planner Sue Brown at 978-525-6436 or browns@manchester.ma.us.

If you have not done so already, please complete the Master Plan Survey online, download the PDF or pick up a paper copy at Town Hall, Manchester Public Library, Newport Park or The Plains. Paper surveys may be returned to Sue Brown at Town Hall. As of September 26, 496  residents have participated.
