BOS WEEKLY UPDATE – September 22, 2016
The Master Plan Committee invites those who live and work in town to its Visioning Open House on Monday, September 26 from 6-9pm at the middle/high school. The Open House will have a drop-in, walk-through format, kicking off with a presentation from MAPC on the community survey results. There will be food, mingling, and five information stations for attendees to visit, as well as a children's play area for caregivers to utilize at the event. Participants can come for as long or as little as they like; results of the community survey will be available throughout the evening.
Town budget season kicks off soon with a joint meeting between the Board of Selectmen and the Finance Committee on Tuesday, September 27. Once the budget schedule has been finalized, details will be available on the Budget Information section of the Town website.
The Affordable Housing Trust will have its first meeting on Thursday, September 29 at 7pm at Town Hall.
The Swearing-In Ceremony/Public Reception for our new public safety chiefs takes place at the American Legion Hall at 5pm on Tuesday, October 4. The public is invited to meet Fire Chief George Kramlinger and Police Chief Ed Conley.
The MBTS Mobile app is now available for iOS and Android. The app will enable users to quickly navigate to various parts of the Town website from mobile devices. Users can download this free app from iTunes and Google Play.
The town-wide water ban continues. Despite some recent rain, the Commonwealth is still under a Drought Warning, one stage shy of an emergency. Please continue to conserve water and honor the outdoor watering ban. No washing of cars, driveways and sidewalks. Hand-watering of plants and yards 5pm – 8am ONLY.
By order of the Fire Chief, all open burning is prohibited. No campfires, open flame cooking fires or recreational fires. This includes open fires on all town beaches, and is due to the unusually dry weather and dry fuel conditions. The use of charcoal cooking fires and gas cooking fires is allowed.
