BOS WEEKLY UPDATE – April 4, 2019
Thanks to all who attended the Annual Town Meeting! While a slightly smaller crowd, we still had good representation. Voters quickly and readily approved all the money articles, asked good questions throughout the evening and had a strong debate on the efficacy of fluoridating our drinking water. Now on to the Town Elections set for May 21!
Intersection Design Updates: Based on helpful input from a range of residents, including strong advocates for pedestrian safety and business owner concerns for on-street parking, our consulting engineers are developing revised layouts for the improvements to three intersection – Central/School, Beach/Union and Summer/Sea/Washington. An update on the revised plans will be presented at our April 16 meeting.
Construction Updates: Water valve work continues this week at Washington and Summer Streets. Temporary curtailment of water service will happen Thursday and Friday for a few hours during the day. Then, during the week of April 15, additional valve replacement work takes place at the intersection of Central and School Street. Work on Morse Pier is wrapping up and the work on expanded floats at Reed Park will be getting underway. Coming soon – repairs to the revetment at Singing Beach thanks to storm damage funding from FEMA.
Selectmen’s Meeting Schedule: With the Patriot’s Day Holiday, the next regular Selectmen’s meeting is Tuesday, April 16.
Trash, Recycling, Compost: Regular Monday and Tuesday Pick ups
