BOS WEEKLY UPDATE – August 22, 2019

Listening Sessions:  The next “Coffee with Cops” is this Friday from 10-Noon at Essen; Town Administrator Greg Federspiel holds open office hours the second and fourth Thursdays, at noon and at 5:30 respectively for an hour; other times by appointment.  And at the start of each Selectmen’s meeting, an open public comment period is offered.  Your input is welcome.

Award Winning Audit Report:  Congratulations to Town Accountant Andrea Mainville and her assistant Linda Ellis for compiling the annual Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) which, for the third year in a row, has received a certificate of achievement for excellence in financial reporting.  You can find the CAFR, which details Town revenues and expenditures and tracks historical trends, on the Town’s web site.  Work is underway for the CAFR for FY19 which ended June 30th.  Andrea is looking for a local artist willing to contribute images for the new report – contact her at MainvilleA@manchester.ma.us

Upcoming Meetings:  With the Labor Day holiday coming up (Oh how fast the summer has gone by!) our first meeting in September will be on Tuesday, September 3. While still early, topics are likely to include a discussion on a possible new compost site at the current transfer site location, next steps in determining public safety leadership, and continued discussions on bolstering our administrative capacity. Click here for Meeting Agendas

Trash, Recycling, Compost: Normal Monday and Tuesday collections. Remember, do not place your recycled materials in a plastic bag or add any plastic bags to your recycling bin! Only cleaned materials please!
