BOS Weekly Update - October 18, 2016

The Master Plan Committee will meet Wednesday, October 19 at 7pm at Town Hall to review the draft Vision Plan, and community survey results will be released late this week. The draft Vision Plan will be presented to the Board of Selectmen and the Planning Board at the October 24 Planning Board meeting at 7pm at Town Hall. The Master Plan Committee will meet again on October 26 at 7pm at Seaside One to further review the Vision Plan. The Council on Aging, Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Agency are pleased to offer a drug take-back program for all residents of Manchester and the Cape Ann area. Any medications, prescriptions or otherwise, can be dropped at the Police Station garage from 10am to 2pm on Saturday, October 22. Please remove all medications from bottles and combine in a ziplock bag. NO SHARPS ALLOWED (please call the Board of Health at 978-526-7385 to discard sharps). Questions? Early Voting begins Monday, October 24 at Town Hall. Please email the Town Clerk’s office or call 978-526-2040 with questions. Early Voting hours are as follows:

  • Monday – Wednesday, October 24 – 26 from 8:30am to 5:00pm
  • Thursday, October 27 from 8:30am to 8:00pm
  • Friday, October 28 from 8:30am to 4:00pm
  • Saturday, October 29 from 9:00am to 3:00pm
  • Sunday, October 30 from 10:00am to 2:00pm

The town-wide water ban remains in effect. Please conserve water and honor the outdoor watering ban. No washing of cars, driveways or sidewalks. Hand-watering of plants and yards 5pm – 8am ONLY.

By order of the Fire Chief, all open burning is prohibited. No campfires, open flame cooking fires or recreational fires. This includes all town beaches and is due to the unusually dry weather and dry fuel conditions. The use of charcoal cooking fires and gas cooking fires is permitted.

Trash, recycling and kitchen compost are collected weekly on appointed collection days. Please place bins at the curb no later than 7am.
