Potential Projects to Improve Safety on Town Streets
Discussion Thursday night at Community Center 6-8pm
Last summer the Board of Selectmen adopted a Safe and Accessible Streets policy committed to incorporating Complete Streets principles into Town practices. Complete Streets are designed and operated to enable safe access for all users, including pedestrians, cyclists, motorists and transit riders of all ages and abilities. Complete Streets make it easy to cross the street, walk to shops, and bicycle to work or school. They allow buses to run on time and make it safe for people to walk to and from train stations.
Based on feedback from its first public meeting in March, the Complete Streets Task Force and Consultant Team identified a list of potential projects and produced concept designs for further consideration. To review these concept designs and potential implications to traffic, accessibility, parking and sense of place, please join friends and neighbors, Town staff and members of the Consultant Team at the Manchester Community Center on Thursday, June 8 from 6-8 PM.
