Volunteer Services Needed by the COA
Shown below is a short description of the types of  volunteer services needed by the Council on Aging.  Please contact our office for more information on any opportunity you may be interested in.

Description.
Office Volunteer
An office volunteer is someone who wishes to donate at least two hours per month to help staff the Council on Aging.
Friendly Visitor
A friendly visitor volunteer is someone who wishes to be matched with a Manchester senior who lives at home or in a local nursing home and who would benefit from the extra attention that a visitor could give.
Errand & Shopping Volunteer
An errand & shopping volunteer is someone who wishes to serve the seniors by volunteering to run errands or do shopping for the seniors who are unable to get out for themselves due to health reasons.
Newsletter Volunteer
A newsletter volunteer is someone who has about 2 hours per month to fold and label Council on Aging newsletters.
School/Reading Volunteer
A number of students in the elementary school do not have grandparents, or their grandparents do not live in the area, and thus they miss the regular interaction with a special older person.
Telephone Reassurance Volunteer
A telephone reassurance volunteer is someone who is willing to reach out on a regular basis by telephone, to a senior who is living alone.
Medical Appointment Driver
A medical appointment driver is someone who wishes to serve the seniors by driving them to medical appointments during the week.
