Volunteers play a major part in society, especially in our culture. These days of small budgets and budget cuts in human services areas create a vital need for volunteer services. Who are volunteers? They are people with big hearts who care about others and feel a strong need to help others in need. They are people who despite busy life styles in these trying times take a few hours of their leisure time to assist others. Are you one of these
individuals? If you are, you will be interested in knowing that there are a number of categories that the Council on Aging needs to fill with volunteers. They are as follows: friendly visitor, office volunteer, telephone reassurance volunteer, volunteer van driver, Friends of the Council on Aging, errand and shopping volunteer and medical appointment driver.. If interested, you can fill out an application and will be contacted by the Volunteer Coordinator to schedule an appointment. Search your heart and see if volunteering is for you. For further information, please call the Council on Aging at (978) 526-7500.
