Executive Board Meeting
March 11, 2009

The meeting was called to order at 5:35 P.M. by Chairman Steve Gillespie. The Board reviewed the minutes of the February 11, 2009 meeting. Linda Kiley moved to accept the minutes; Joslyn Becker seconded the motion and all voted in favor.
Director’s Report: Weather conditions improved in February so that senior citizens were able to take advantage of van transportation and various COA activities.
Beverly Bootstraps opens a bi-monthly Food Pantry on Thursday, March12. A bag of dry food will be available for residents over age 60. Perishable food will be offered at a later date.
The Cape Ann Food Pantry wants to offer groceries on alternate Thursdays. The Pantry van will deliver on one day to the Community Center; the next week to the Plains.
Nancy will check out food donation procedures for interested Manchester citizens.
A new inter-generational group comprised of adults, middle and high school students plans to adopt a troop of soldiers serving in Iraq.
A Health and Wellness Fair is scheduled for May 3 at the Community Center.
Friend’s Report: Phone books are still selling.
The Friends have voted to fund half the cost of the COA monthly luncheon.
Steve Gillespie will attend the Friends March meeting.
Adele reported that new Friends are always needed.
Old Business: The Valentine Dance was a great success. 100 people enjoyed great music and lovely desserts.
Linda Kiley moved to adjourn the meeting at 5:55. Joslyn Becker seconded the motion and all members were in favor
