Director’s Report: As the end of the fiscal year approaches, expenditures remain stable and the budget bottom line is in balance.
The Health and Wellness Fair on May 30 is the next big COA event. About 30 health oriented organizations are expected to participate. Volunteers are needed to help make the day a success.
Public service programs will become regularly featured COA activities on alternate months. On June 18 a Meet the Police program will take place at The Plains. Coffee and pastry will be served when the meeting begins at 10 A.M.
Friends Report: The Friends will sell telephone books at their Health Fair table and serve as volunteers when needed.
The group has voted to purchase carbon monoxide detectors for Seniors. TRIAD has volunteered to do the installations.
Financial support for the Annual Summer Cookout has also been approved by the Friends.
Martha said that COA Board members are always welcome at the Friends meetings. Steve Gillespie will attend the next meeting.
New Business: Beverly Bootstraps continues to deliver bags of groceries to the Community Center. Residents may pick them up twice a month.
A possible senior driver safety program was discussed. Unfortunately local seniors show little interest.
Bob Howard volunteered to be Nominating Chair for the next COA Executive Board elections.
Bob Howard moved to adjourn the meeting at 5:58. Su Kwedor seconded the motion and all members were in favor.
Respectfully submitted,
Joslyn Becker
