The Seaward face or side of any elevated landform, other than a coastal dune, which lies at the landward edge of a coastal beach, land subject to tidal action or other wetland.
Coastal Banks are composed of consolidated and/or unconsolidated materials that predate the last glacial period. They differ from Coastal Dunes, which consist of unconsolidated materials that have been deposited since the last glacial period by waves and wind.
