Flu News from the Board of Health:
The Manchester Board of Health has flu vaccine available for all residents age six months and up. Flu vaccines available include both seasonal injectable and mist, and H1N1 injectable and mist.
The Massachusetts Department of Public Health strongly recommends that citizens get vaccinated in February as seasonal flu is predicted to arrive in March. The “third wave” arrival of H1N1 is unknown and somewhat unpredictable.
If you would like a seasonal or H1N1 flu shot, Public Health Nurse, Betty Benn RN, will be available in the Board of Health office in Town Hall. To arrange an appointment, please call the Board of Health at 978-526-7385, or e-mail:bennb@Manchester.ma.us.
The State of Massachusetts has a great website providing up to date information on both seasonal and H1N1 Flu. If you would like to visit the state flu website go to: www.mass.gov/flu
