MANCHESTER-BY-THE-SEA — Chair Alison Anholt-White announces that the Manchester-by-the-Sea Sustainability Committee will host a Green America speaker this week for residents who wish to learn more about recycling and reducing waste.
WHEN: Thursday, May 9 at 7 p.m.
WHERE: Manchester-by-the Sea Public Library, 15 Union St.
WHAT: Beth Porter, Climate and Recycling Director at Green America and author of “Reduce, Reuse, Reimagine: Sorting Out the Recycling System,” will speak to attendees about the challenges communities face surrounding sustainability and waste management.
Through her work, Porter has inspired thousands of people and businesses to be more sustainable. During the event, she will provide answers to attendees’ questions about how to strengthen and reshape the town’s recycling system.

TA Drop-in Hours: Town Administrator Greg Federspiel has drop-in hours twice a month for residents who have a question or other need, no appointment necessary. Drop in hours are normally the second Thursdays of the month at noon and the fourth Thursdays at 5:30. For May this is the 9th at noon and the 23rd at 5:30. Of course, other times by appointment are always an option.
