BOS WEEKLY UPDATE – March 1, 2018
Get out doors but mind your pets! At least for now we are enjoying a stretch of early spring weather making beach and park walks very popular. Please remember to maintain control of your pets if they are with you so that everyone can enjoy being outdoors.
Annual Town Meeting: Mark your calendars now! The Annual Town Meeting takes place on the first Monday in April which is April 2 this year, 7PM at the Elementary School Gymnasium. The warrant for the meeting along with the proposed budget will be posted on the Town's web site in early March.
Annual Elections Set for May 15th: The ballot will include candidates for Selectmen, the Housing Authority, Library Trustee, Moderator, Planning Board (3 positions) and the School Committee. Any registered voter can file papers to be a candidate. For details, stop by the Town Clerk's Office. To be a candidate, a petition with 26 voter signatures is due by March 27. We encourage you to get involved!
The Results are in! Over 500 residents responded to the final survey from the Master Plan Study Committee. In addition to responding to the questions, many respondents took time to share additional thoughts about the direction they would like to see the Town take regarding future development and carrying for the resources we have. The Committee will be analyzing the results and incorporating them into the set of final recommendations that the new master plan will contain. The survey results will be posted on the Town's web site soon. Thanks to all who responded.
