BOS WEEKLY UPDATE – May 17, 2018
Congratulations to Rebecca Jacques for being elected to the Board! We look forward to working with Becky in the months and years ahead. Congratulations are also extended to those elected to the various other positions on the ballot. Welcome aboard and best of luck in your positions. Your service to the Town is most appreciated.
And thanks to all who voted! Town elections are important and the larger the turn out the better we can be assured the results represent the true wishes of the majority of residents. A big thank you is extended to all who fulfilled your civic duty.
Round-about Trial: From May 14 through June 8 a new traffic pattern will be tested at the intersection of Central/Pine/Bridge and Bennett Streets. A small round-about has been laid out requiring a circular flow of vehicles at the intersection. All traffic should yield to those already in the circle. Additional adjustments will be made as traffic patterns and driver behavior is observed during the trial period. After the trial period a short survey will be available to assess reaction to the proposed change that the Downtown Improvement Committee has advanced. Have an observation to share? Feel free to send an email to the DPW or Selectmen’s office.
Goal Setting Session planned: The Selectmen will be meeting at the end of the month to identify the top priorities for the coming fiscal year that begins July 1. What would be at the top of your list? We would love to hear your ideas.
Beach and Resident Stickers: Beat the rush – order your 2018 resident and beach sticker/tags on-line or come to Town Hall.
Trash, Recycling, and Compost pick up: Regular Monday and Tuesday pick-ups
