BOS WEEKLY UPDATE – June 21, 2018

Summer Concerts are underway!  We hope to see many of you Tuesday nights at Masconomo Park for the annual summer concert series that the Parks and Recreation Department organizes.  And speaking of organizing, plans are all but in place for the July 4th Celebrations.  There is still time to get your donation in. We are looking forward to the concert and fireworks at Signing Beach.  The patriotic events begin with the Annual Pancake Breakfast Rotary sponsors at Tuck’s Point the Saturday before.

Route 127 Paving: The state is milling and repaving Route 127/Summer Street from Hickory Hill eastward to the Magnolia Woods field complex in Gloucester.  Depending on weather, etc., the work may last through July.  Expect travel delays.  We are pleased the state is undertaking this work but understand it is not a town project that we control.

Round-about Trial:  Thanks to all who have submitted comments.  A preliminary discussion about the trial will take place at the Selectmen’s Meeting on June 25.  A final decision by the Board likely will take place at a future meeting still to be announced.  As always, public comments at Selectmen meetings are welcome.

Want to be more engaged in community affairs?  The Town relies on volunteers to serve on various boards and committees.  Most groups meet once or twice a month.  Interested in serving?  Fill out a volunteer application form which can be found on the Town’s web site.  Need more information?  Stop by the Selectmen’s Office at Town Hall.
