BOS WEEKLY UPDATE – September 13, 2018

Thank you Town Employees!  An appreciation lunch was provided to our hard working town employees on September 12th.  Day in and day out our staff provide a full array of municipal services to all residents and visitors.  While seemingly a simple gesture, saying “thank you” for the services we receive from town staff goes a long way in letting our employees know that the work they do for all of us is appreciated.

Special Town Meeting scheduled for October 15-Mark your calendars! A Special Town Meeting is scheduled for a town vote on the proposal for a new elementary school along with a few town bylaw changes. If you have waited until now to get informed, now is the time to do so! Check out the School’s and Town’s web sites for detailed information. Assuming voters advance the plan, a second vote on the school project will be held November 6th by ballot in conjunction with the state elections.

Construction Work: The repaving on Lincoln Street was completed on time and on budget! As an added plus additional clearance was gained for the recently repaired pedestrian bridge thus we hope to avoid future damage to the structure. The next projects to get underway will be the replacement of an old water main along Black Beach on Ocean Street and a new drainage project on School Street from Burnham Lane to Sawmill Brook. Project updates will be posted on the Town’s web site.
