BOS WEEKLY UPDATE – March 7, 2019

Reuse, Reduce, Recycle! Want to keep plastic out of the ocean? Want to keep stuff out of landfills? Want to lower greenhouse gas production?  Please join members of the Sustainability Committee and the High School Green Team for a chance to learn more about Waste Management and eat a delicious “waste free” meal. There will also be a showing of the movie WASTED, by CNN’s Anthony Bourdain along with student presentations including a Middle School skit! The event is on Friday March 8th at 6 pm at the Manchester/Essex Regional High School Cafeteria.

Town Annual Report and Finance Committee Report:  The delivery of these important documents to each household will be made on Saturday March 23 by the Scouts – plenty of time to read the materials and come prepared to participate in the Annual Town Meeting set for Monday, April 1, 7PM at the Memorial Elementary School!

Delayed Sidewalk Clearing:  Due to equipment breakdowns, sidewalks were not cleared from Monday’s storm as quickly as we would prefer.  Additional support from contractors was brought in starting Tuesday.  We apologize for the inconvenience.

Town Elections:  Nomination papers are now available for the Annual Town Elections come May 21 and must be returned to the Town Clerk’s Office by April 2.  The following positions will be on the ballot: one Moderator for one year, two Selectmen for three years each, two School Committee members for three years each, one Board of Library Trustee for a three year term, three Planning Board members for three years each, and three constables for three years each.  Please see Town Clerk Christina St. Pierre for further information.
