BOS WEEKLY UPDATE – July 18, 2019
Summer is here: And so too is high demand for use of our waterfront amenities. Our summer staff work hard to make everyone’s experience at Singing Beach, Tuck’s Point, or in and around the harbor enjoyable. But with crowds the patience of some wears thin. Some 3000 resident beach stickers are distributed. Singing Beach only has 120 parking spaces, all reserved for residents on weekends and holidays. Consider designating a driver who drops off the crew and beach gear, goes home and then returns by bike to lessen parking demand.
New Transient Dock space at Reed Park: Our newest water amenity, the expanded dock space at Reed Park, is already a well-received addition to our harbor. Boaters still have the option of free dock space for visits under an hour but we now can accommodate longer stays, including overnight stays, for a fee. Fees are collected through the on-line Dockwa app.
Consider Volunteering! Our local government depends on the generous contribution of time from resident volunteers for whom we are very grateful. We currently have openings on the Animal Control Board, the Board of Appeals, the Cultural Council, and the Welcome to Manchester committee. Contact the Selectmen’s Office for additional information on all of our volunteer opportunities.
Tuesday night Concerts at Masconomo Park: Be sure to enjoy the free concerts taking place every Tuesday evening through August 6 at Masco! Check out the details at the Park and Recreation’s page on the Town’s web site.
Trash, Recycling, Compost: Normal Monday and Tuesday collections. Remember, do not place your recycled materials in a plastic bag or add any plastic bags to your recycling bin!
