Water main flushing began on Monday, November 7 and will continue for approximately three weeks. Some have asked why the Town is flushing the water lines during a water ban. Flushing is critical to maintaining the ability to deliver high quality water, so an efficient and effective flushing program is essential. Thanks to the conservation measures residents have taken, the town’s main water source has stabilized at a level that should let flushing be accomplished while maintaining an adequate water supply for consumption and fire protection. This will be monitored and if the water level starts to drop significantly, flushing will be suspended.
